Can't Find Shadowrocket in the App Store? Check Your Apple ID Region and Store Availability

App availability depends on your account's storefront. Learn how to check your Apple ID country or region, what to resolve before changing it, and how to verify the App Store listing.

At a glance

Shadowrocket is available through the App Store. If it doesn't appear in search, first check the account used for Media & Purchases and its Country/Region. Then verify the product page and distinguish regional unavailability from device incompatibility or a payment issue. This guide is for first-time buyers and anyone reinstalling after switching to a new iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps in order instead of repeatedly changing network settings or app configuration.

Search results and App Store availability are different

App Store search results don't tell you everything about purchase eligibility. If the app doesn't appear when you search, the cause may be storefront availability, your search terms, or device restrictions. Seeing the product page doesn't guarantee that your account can complete the purchase. Check the specific message on the product page rather than relying on the search results alone.

Shadowrocket is primarily used on iPhone and iPad. Compatibility with Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision is also listed on the App Store page. Always refer to the App Store page for system requirements. Availability can vary by storefront, so someone else's search screenshot can't replace the live results for your own account.

Check the purchasing account's Country/Region

On newer systems, Apple ID may appear as Apple Account. The account used for iCloud at the top of your device may differ from the one used for Media & Purchases. When troubleshooting the App Store, check the account actually signed in under Media & Purchases—not just the name at the top of Settings.

The steps below use the English interface labels for iPhone and iPad. Labels vary with your system language, and menu locations may change between system versions. If prompted to sign in or verify your identity, complete that step before checking the account's region.

  1. Open account settings

Go to Settings → tap your name at the top → Media & Purchases. Check which account is signed in and confirm whether it's the account you plan to use—or previously used—to buy Shadowrocket.

  2. Open your purchase account details

Tap Media & Purchases → View Account and complete any requested verification. This is where you view your App Store purchase account—not your iCloud storage or device language settings.

  3. Check your current region

Open Country/Region and note the country or region shown. For now, just check the setting; you don't need to tap Change Country or Region.

  4. Check the App Store

Return to the App Store and make sure your account is in good standing. Then open the product page from this site's App Store verification page. Note whether it opens, whether a purchase button appears, and what message you see after tapping it.

Region under Settings → General → Language & Region mainly affects regional formats and related device settings. It isn't the same as the App Store region under Media & Purchases. Changing your device language, time zone, or network routing won't change the purchasing account's Country/Region.

Before changing your region

Changing your country or region changes your account's purchase settings; it isn't a routine fix for search problems. Continue only if you genuinely need to change your account region and meet the requirements for the new region. Read the prompts on your account page first to avoid disrupting purchases or services you still use just to view a product page.

The subscriptions to check here are those billed through the App Store on your Apple account—not connection subscriptions added in Shadowrocket. They're managed in different places and billed by different providers. Review each item in the table before making a change. Whether you can proceed depends on the current checks shown in your Apple account.

CheckHow to checkWhat to do first
Account balanceCheck the balance on your App Store account page.Spend the remaining balance first. If you can't use the last amount, contact Apple Support through your device.
Active subscriptionsSettings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions.Follow the prompts to cancel any subscription that blocks a region change, then wait for the current subscription period to end.
Pending itemsCheck for pre-orders, rentals, pending refunds, and other outstanding items.Wait for each item to finish processing. Submitting a refund request doesn't mean the refund has been completed.
Family SharingSettings → Family. Check your current family membership.Family Sharing may prevent a region change. Consider how leaving could affect shared purchases and subscriptions before proceeding.
Payment and billingReview the payment methods and billing details required for the new region.Prepare valid details for that region and enter them accurately. Don't assume your current payment method will work there.

Bottom line: resolve account restrictions first

If the Country/Region page identifies a balance, subscription, or Family Sharing restriction, follow the steps shown there before continuing. Clearing search history, restarting the App Store, or changing Shadowrocket rules won't remove account restrictions.

Changing regions may also affect access to existing content. Check in advance that you can keep any purchases you need; don't assume everything will remain available to download again. Avoid switching regions repeatedly just to test availability—each change may require you to verify payment details and meet other requirements again.

Verify the product page and purchase status

Open the product page from the App Store verification page, confirm the app's identity, then check its price and compatibility. Shadowrocket's app ID is 932747118, and the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Search results for similarly named apps aren't a substitute for checking both details.

If you've bought Shadowrocket before, first confirm that Media & Purchases is signed in with the original purchasing account. Then look for Shadowrocket in your App Store purchase history. A cloud download icon or Open button means something different from a price. If a price still appears, don't buy it again right away; check the account, purchase history, and app ID first.

Check Global Routing after installation

App Store availability and Shadowrocket connection settings are separate matters. There's no need to look into Global Routing before installing the app. After installation, check your existing connection details in Home and the active configuration in Config. The options below describe routing behavior within Shadowrocket; they don't change your App Store storefront.

Config

Recommended

When Global Routing is set to Config, connections are handled according to the rules in the active configuration. First verify the Config file, rule order, and policy references; selecting a name alone doesn't mean routing is set up correctly.

Best for: Following rules for everyday connections with a configuration you've already checked.

Proxy

When Global Routing is set to Proxy, connections are handled primarily in proxy mode, which can help you compare results with Config. It can't change your purchasing account's region or resolve account balance, payment, or app availability restrictions.

Best for: Comparing access temporarily when you already have working connection details.

Direct

When Global Routing is set to Direct, connections are handled primarily in direct mode. Being able to open the App Store page on a particular network only describes what happened at that time; it doesn't mean your purchase eligibility has changed.

Best for: Comparing direct access on your current network.

Buying the app doesn't include a connection service. This guide assumes you already have your own service provider and subscription; get connection details from your provider. For installation and initial setup, see the setup guide. App purchases and connection services are separate.

Search and reinstall FAQs

I changed my phone's Region. Why can't I find the app?

First check which setting you changed. Settings → General → Language & Region isn't the same as your App Store account region. Go to Settings → tap your name at the top → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region to check the actual storefront, then reopen the product page.

My friend can buy it. Why can't I see it?

Compare the Country/Region for each purchasing account, device models, and App Store messages. Being on the same network doesn't mean you're using the same storefront, and the same storefront doesn't mean your devices have the same compatibility. Check these differences before copying someone else's device settings.

The page opens, but I can't complete the payment. What should I do?

Note the full message shown during payment, then check your payment method, billing details, and any pending purchases in account settings. This is a billing or account issue. Changing search terms or Config, or repeatedly tapping the purchase button, won't resolve it.

Do I need to buy it again after getting a new iPhone?

Sign in to Media & Purchases with your original purchasing account, then look for the app in your App Store purchase history and verify its identity. Redownload availability depends on your account's purchase rights, the current storefront, and device compatibility. Once you've confirmed you can install it, restore your own connection details and Config separately.

By the end of these checks, you should be able to classify the issue: a search problem, regional unavailability, an account restriction, a payment failure, or device incompatibility. Keep a note of the relevant message to help narrow it down. For account verification, use only the screens provided by your device and the App Store—never share your password or verification code.
