Check the App Store listing for pricing, purchase eligibility and system requirements. This page is part of the official Shadowrocket manual and explains how to verify and purchase the genuine app.
01 / Store
Storefront and account region
Your Apple ID's country or region determines which storefront you see, not your device's display language.
This app isn't available in the mainland China storefront. If you can't find Shadowrocket, first check the storefront for the account you're using to make App Store purchases instead of repeatedly changing your search terms. Your device's language, time zone and physical location don't indicate which storefront your purchasing account uses. Even if the product page appears in a browser, check its purchase status after opening it in the App Store.
The main button on this page links to Shadowrocket's App Store product page. Once there, check the app name, developer and app ID. If the store says the app isn't available in your region, check the region in your account details. Changing networks won't change your account's storefront or confirm whether you're eligible to purchase.
The account used for media and purchases may differ from the account shown at the top of your device settings. To verify which account is active, open Media & Purchases and check the sign-in details; don't rely only on the name shown on the main Settings screen. If you've bought the app before, check the original purchasing account's history first, before considering changes to your account details.
Check your country or region
- Open Settings on your device and tap the Apple ID account at the top.
- Open Media & Purchases, tap View Account, and complete any verification steps shown.
- Open Country/Region to see your current storefront. If you need to change it, use the option on this page.
- Return to the App Store, open the product page, and check the purchase button, currency and compatibility details.
Menu labels may vary slightly between system versions; follow what appears on your device. Your account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing status and payment method may all affect a region change. Review the account page and resolve any outstanding items first. Whether you can change regions depends on Apple's review and your account status; don't assume the change will be approved.
02 / Verify
Three checks to verify the genuine app
Match the developer, official icon and app ID before purchasing.
Shadowrocket
App ID: 932747118
Shadowrocket is the product name shown in the store. Search results may include apps with the same or similar names, or show other results first. The name, ranking or a similar-looking icon alone isn't enough to verify an app. Open the product details and check each of the following.
- Developer: Verify that it is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. If the name is abbreviated, open the developer details on the product page to see the full name rather than guessing from an abbreviation.
- Icon: Compare it with the official icon on this page: a blue-purple outlined rocket on a white background. Similar colors don't mean it's the same app; check the app ID as well.
- App ID: The product page URL ends with
id932747118. This is the app's identifier, not an account number or a version number that changes with updates.
After checking all three, review the price and compatibility details. If anything doesn't match, stop and reopen the product page using the link on this site. Don't rely on a similar-looking screenshot as proof. Also check the app name and amount in the purchase confirmation; the App Store shows the final transaction details.
How to identify the app after installation
The two images on the right are official screenshots uploaded by the developer to the App Store. They show Home and Add Server to help you locate features. The SERVER list shown is for illustration; purchasing the app doesn't provide the same connection details. What appears in the list when you first open the app depends on what you've imported and configured.
Home shows the connection status, Global Routing, Connectivity Test and Add Server entry point. Add Server shows fields such as Type, Host, Port, Password and Method. The fields vary depending on the selected Type. The layout may change with app updates; use screenshots to locate features, not as a substitute for the prompts in the current app.
03 / iPhone
Install and open Shadowrocket on iPhone
Complete the App Store purchase first, then configure the app and approve system access.
Check compatibility before purchasing
Open the App Store product page on your iPhone, expand the compatibility details and check whether your device meets the requirements. Use the App Store listing for system requirements, not this page, which may not reflect current store information. If the store says your device isn't compatible, check its system version against the listing. Follow the store's prompts separately for payment methods, available storage or network issues.
After verifying the three details, complete the purchase using the App Store price button and system verification steps. Once the purchase succeeds, wait for the app icon to finish loading before opening it. If you've purchased the app before, you may see a redownload icon or an Open button instead of a price. Check your current account's purchase history before deciding what that status means.
App updates are also handled through the App Store. To check what's changed, read the update notes on the product page; don't use version details from other pages to determine whether your device is up to date. Errors during purchase or update are App Store issues: resolve the store status before checking connections within the app.
Home, existing configurations and VPN permission
When you first open the app, check the list in Home. If nothing is imported yet, gather your existing subscription or server details; get subscriptions from your service provider. Importing a subscription and entering details manually in Add Server are different methods. Choose the one that matches your information: don't enter a subscription URL in Host or use a server address as a subscription.
The first time you enable a connection or take another action that requires a system VPN configuration, your device may ask for permission to add one. Check that Shadowrocket initiated the request, read the prompt, then follow the system's verification steps. This permission lets the app create the network configuration; it doesn't confirm that your server details are correct or that the connection works.
After granting permission, return to Home and check the connection toggle, selected entry and Global Routing. Config, Proxy and Direct refer to the configuration, proxy and direct connection modes. With rules enabled, also check the active Config. Connection status and actual access are separate checks. Follow the setup guide to import, select and test your configuration. A VPN indicator in the system status alone doesn't confirm everything is working.
04 / iPad
iPad and other compatible devices
Check purchase history, device compatibility and personal configuration separately.
Install using the same purchasing account
Shadowrocket supports iPhone and iPad. After purchasing once with an Apple ID, you can install it from the purchase history on another compatible device. Check the App Store listing for purchase eligibility and system requirements. Before using it on iPad, make sure Media & Purchases is signed in with the original purchasing account to avoid mixing up the storefront status of different accounts.
iPadOS gives you more screen space, so the layout may differ from iPhone screenshots. Look for features by their interface labels, such as Home, Config, Settings and Add Server. A different layout in landscape orientation or a wider list doesn't mean you've installed the wrong app. Verify it by checking the developer, icon and app ID.
An available purchase history doesn't mean your personal configuration is ready. After installation, check the entries in Home, the active Config and Global Routing. If you're using sync or a backup to restore your setup, check the actual contents and whether they're active. VPN permission must be handled separately on each device, following its system prompts.
Mac / Apple TV / Apple Vision
The compatibility section of the same App Store product page also lists Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision. To use Shadowrocket on one of these devices, check the product page and compatibility on that device, rather than assuming availability based on the purchase button on another device. The App Store product page remains the place to get the app.
Check the App Store listing for system requirements and eligibility for universal purchase on these devices. Controls may vary with the device's input method and screen layout. The step-by-step installation and first-connection instructions on this page focus on iPhone and iPad; touch instructions for a phone may not apply to other devices.
05 / Restore
New device, reinstall and restore purchases
Restore the app first, then restore your own subscriptions, server details and Config.
Find the app in your purchase history
On a new or reset device, open the App Store, go to your account and find Shadowrocket in your purchase history. On some system versions, this may be under the Apps list; follow the labels on your device. Sign in with the original purchasing Apple ID and redownload the correct app. You usually won't need to pay for it again.
If the store still shows a price, stop and check the account signed in under Media & Purchases, the original purchase history and the current app ID. Having used the app before doesn't necessarily mean the current account owns that purchase. Don't confirm another payment just to test whether you can restore it. Match the account to the purchase history first, then follow the App Store prompts.
Check the product page and your family account's current status to see whether Family Sharing applies. Even if the app purchase can be shared, that doesn't mean personal configurations, subscriptions or server-side access are shared too. Confirm purchase eligibility and connection details separately.
Check your configuration after restoring
Reinstalling restores the app itself, not necessarily all your local settings. Before replacing your device or deleting the app, check that your backup is available, keep the Config and personal connection details you need, and understand what your sync method includes. Don't wait until the old device has been erased to check your backup.
- Open the app and check that Home contains the expected entries.
- Restore your subscription or server details using your existing information. Get subscriptions from your service provider.
- Check the active Config, Global Routing and selected connection entry.
- On the new device, follow the system prompts to authorize the VPN configuration, then verify that access works.
If the app opens normally but connections fail, troubleshoot your configuration or network instead of purchasing again. Check that all fields are complete, the subscription updated successfully and the selected entry is still valid. To narrow down where the problem occurs, see Troubleshooting and identify whether the issue is with the store, import or connection.
06 / Price
Price and one-time purchase
The app purchase and connection service are separate costs.
Confirm the price shown in your storefront
The US storefront reference price is $2.99 for a one-time app purchase; there is no monthly app purchase fee. Other storefronts show local currency. Check the App Store listing for the actual price, transaction amount and purchase eligibility. Before confirming payment on the system screen, check the app name, amount and payment account again.
A one-time purchase describes how you pay for the app; it doesn't mean purchase history can be freely transferred between all devices and accounts. Restoring a purchase usually requires the original purchasing account. Check the store and account pages separately for compatibility with other devices, Family Sharing and universal purchase eligibility. Use the actual purchase history to confirm price or transaction status.
Keep the app purchase separate from connection details
One-time app purchase ≠ connection plan. A one-time purchase of Shadowrocket gives you the right to use the app; it doesn't automatically add a subscription or server details. Get existing subscriptions from your service provider. To add a server manually, enter details such as Type, Host and Port from your existing server information.
This is the official Shadowrocket website and manual. It does not provide or sell nodes or subscriptions. This page covers App Store purchases, app verification and restoring purchases. For in-app subscription updates, applying configurations and testing connections, see the setup guide and glossary. Buying the app gives you the client; import your own details and test them to check whether a connection works.
If you've bought the app but haven't configured it yet, installing the app and getting a connection ready are separate steps. Identify what kind of information you have, then choose the right import method. If you're unsure what a field means, check the manual before making changes; this makes it easier to keep track of your original settings.
Purchase / Questions
Shadowrocket download and purchase FAQs
First identify which step the problem occurs at, then check your account, the App Store or your configuration.
Can't find Shadowrocket on the App Store? What to check first
This app isn't available in the mainland China storefront. First, check the region of the account used for purchases under Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region, then open the App Store product page linked here. Your device language and physical location don't determine your account's storefront. Before changing regions, address any account balance, subscriptions and payment requirements. Check your account page to see whether a change is possible.
The App Store page opens, but you can't complete your purchase or download. What should you do?
Note the App Store message, then check your account's storefront, payment status, device compatibility, available storage and network connection in that order. If it says you've already purchased the app, check which Apple ID is signed in under Media & Purchases, then look in your purchase history. An App Store purchase issue is different from a connection problem within the app.
Do you have to pay again after getting a new iPhone or reinstalling the app?
Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, then find Shadowrocket in App Store → Account → Purchased. You can usually download it again without paying for the app a second time. If a price still appears, check the purchasing account and purchase history. After restoring the app, you'll also need to restore your Config, subscription or server details.
I bought it on iPhone. Can I use it on iPad too?
You can install Shadowrocket on iPhone and iPad using the same Apple ID's purchase history. Check the App Store listing for purchase eligibility and system requirements. Installing the app doesn't automatically sync your configuration; on iPad, check the Home list, current Config and Global Routing.
Can I install it on Mac, Apple TV or Apple Vision?
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision. Check the listing on the device you want to use. System requirements and eligibility for universal purchase are determined by the App Store listing. The App Store remains the only place to get the app.
The app interface is in English. How do I follow the instructions?
This page and the official manual retain interface labels such as Home, Add Server, Config and Global Routing, so you can find them by name. Use Home to check the list and connection status, Add Server to enter details for an existing server, and Config to review configuration files. See the setup guide for the steps and the glossary for field definitions.
